Our unique blend of small and large-leaf Assam blend teas has been a tea lover's favorite for years. Comprised of full-bodied Assam teas, our organic loose-leaf Irish Breakfast tea has been designed as a strong tea that will invigorate you in the morning and help you to start your day off right.

When brewed, it produces a cup with a brisk flavor and an undertone of dark, richly fermented malt. Due to its strength, Irish Breakfast tea is commonly served with milk, but some prefer to drink it with a slice of lemon and a dash of sugar.

Brewing Tips: Irish Breakfast tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a rolling boil (205-212° F). Using one rounded teaspoon of loose Irish tea or one teabag for each cup required, pour the boiling water over the tea leaves. Irish Breakfast tea should be steeped for 4-5 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping. Decant and enjoy this Irish morning tea!     My afternoon "time out" . . .

    I enjoy so many of the Mark T. Wendell black teas that it's hard to pick one, but if I did it would probably be the Irish Breakfast Black Tea - as is a big favorite of mine. It's a bold and flavorful tea, which are the kind of teas that I enjoy most. On a perfect afternoon - it's my "Tea Time" about three, along with my routine of filling my agenda for tomorrow with all I need/have to do, followed by
    the reading of a good book. It ends my day on a "perfect" high-note.

    Why do I drink the tea I drink? After drinking Mark Wendell's Tea for at least 39 years I decided to finally look at the top three teas I drink, at least one (sometimes two) are in every order I place to Wendell's. These three favorite teas are: "Russian Caravan Tea", "Irish Breakfast Tea" and "Scottish Breakfast Tea". "Russian Caravan Tea" is my absolute favorite tea for all of those years. I can only say that the flavor of this tea in my mouth is the heaviest tea flavor of the three. Following this tea is "Scottish", Then "Irish". With me, I can definitely say that I am governed by the tea flavor of the three teas and how long this flavor lasts before I swallow. I can confidently say that I could do a "blind taste test" of the three teas I enjoy and accurately put the right name to the correct tea! Some tea has virtually no tea flavor and most of the green teas are in this category. I don't like tea that is "flavored" by the addition of a "flavoring". if you took green tea and added black-berry flavoring to it, what would you have? "Black-berry green tea"? The tea flavor in the tea is what makes it or breaks it and tea flavor is UNIQUE to each tea. Hope this is not too confusing!

    How long does it take for my order to ship?

    We strive to ship orders within 2-3 days of receipt. However, due to the handcrafted nature of our products, combined with inventory limitations, some orders may take longer to ship. If there is a significant delay in shipping your order, we will contact you directly with details.

    Are your teas cultivated naturally? Are they Organic?

    All our teas are sourced from tea estates, suppliers and importers that we have personally worked with for decades and many for generations! We only purchase teas that have been cultivated naturally, devoid of pesticides and growth agents.

    Teas that have the term “Organic” in the products name have gone through additional certification by the country or origin and USFDA. Even though all our products are natural, we are unable to list them as Organic unless they have gone through these steps. Sometimes, this certification can be costly and time consuming for growers. Each country has different regulations, so many sell the teas to us without this extra labeling.

    How long does tea stay fresh?

    If sealed properly and stored away from extreme hot/cold temps and moisture, tea will stay as flavorful as the day you bought it, even after 18 months.
