The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company offers you the convenience of 24 hour a day, 365 day a year online ordering in a secure server environment. For your convenience, we accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover credit cards as well as other options through the Shopify Payments platform.

You may view, save, and print recent orders you have placed from this computer from your account page, after logging in to the store. If you need to contact us for any reason, our Customer Service hours are Monday - Friday, from 9:00AM to 4:30PM, Eastern Time.

Domestic Shipping:

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company ships via United Parcel Service, Federal Express and the U.S. Postal Service to domestic addresses. We make every effort to ship orders within 48 hours of the following business day. However, orders arriving on or just prior to weekends or holidays will take longer, particularly during the busy Christmas holiday season. (Orders are not shipped on weekends or holidays.)

Once shipped, orders travel to destination addresses via third party carriers and are subject to their delivery time frames. We do not control how long it takes third party shippers to get deliveries across the United States and to international addresses. When your order has been processed and sent to our warehouse for picking, you will receive an e-mail outlining your order’s tracking information. We strive to process and ship orders within 2-3 days of receipt. However, due to the hand-crafted nature of our products combined with limitations presented to us due to global supply chain disruptions, some orders may take longer to ship.

Shipping Rates:

Shipping and handling charges for United States addresses are based upon the total dollar amount of your order and are reflected in the shipping and handling feee schedule listed below. We are pleased to offer our customers FREE SHIPPING on orders with a product sub-total over $110.00 that are being sent to single shipping addresses within the 48 contiguous states.

Free shipping on orders over $110 does not apply to addresses in Alaska, Hawaii or International destinations. Gift certificates for delivery within the United States are free of any shipping and handling charges.

Domestic Expedited Service Charges:

We realize that there are times when your order is urgent. Customers requiring expedited shipping and handling may contact us directly with order specifics.

Prices for expedited services can then be calculated based on the package weight and destination.

International Shipments:

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company ships internationally thru the United States Postal Service. Delivery times will vary by destination, but most take between 5-10 days. International packages will be shipped by Priority Mail International with the exception of low weight packages being sent to Canada and Mexico. These packages will be sent by First Class International.

Additionally, please note that free shipping on orders over $110 does not apply to orders shipping to international addresses. Gift certificates will be delivered by mail at no additional cost.

Payment Processing:

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company uses Shopify Payments for real-time processing of credit card transactions for online purchases. This platform is committed to providing its merchant customers with the highest level of transaction processing security, safeguarding customer information and combating fraud. The service provider implements and maintains compliance with industry leading security initiatives such as the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard and Payment Data Encryption.

Pick Up Your Order in Acton:

We are no longer able to accept in-office customer purchases. Customers are welcome to call ahead and place an order for pick up at our office. We will process your order by phone and will then leave your order in our "tea takeout" box outside our front door. There is a 10% discount on all tea products picked up at our location, so if you are in the area, please call ahead to take advantage of these savings! 

Please allow at least an hour when calling in an order as some products are made to order and require some time to package.
Pricing Volatility:

Tea is an imported agricultural commodity that has been significantly affected by the global Coronavirus pandemic and global supply chain issues. Due to changes in global currency values, general inflation, freight cost increases and energy costs, prices are subject to change without notice.

Gift Orders:

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company welcomes your gift orders and the opportunity to introduce your friends and relatives to the pleasures of tea drinking, whether at holiday times or any special occasion. We will even include a personalized greeting message, if you would like. Simply include your intended greeting in the Customer Comments section of the order form.

Your own billing information, as well as the gift recipient’s shipping information must be entered, and a separate online shopping cart must be used for each gift order recipient, with separate shipping charges calculated for each gift order.

Gift Certificates:

Most tea drinkers are somewhat particular when it comes to their likes, dislikes and tea preferences. If you are uncertain, a Mark T. Wendell Gift Certificate might be just the solution. Gift Certificates are available online in convenient $25.00 through $150.00 denominations. Gift certificates for delivery within the United States are free of any shipping and handling charges.

Sales Tax:

Non-food items (such as teapots and accessories) are subject to 6.25% State Sales Tax for Massachusetts customers only.

Our Guarantee & Return Policy:

The Mark T. Wendell Tea Company has been importing and packaging fine teas for over 119 years. Our teas are of the highest quality and are guaranteed fresh and flavorful. The bulk teas that we pack under our MTW label are shipped to us in wooden tea chests and in foil sealed, air-tight boxes. When the tea chests arrive at our warehouse, we inspect the tea leaves to confirm that they are of the highest quality. We store our loose teas in air-tight rubber drums. This allows us to ensure a superior product and to guarantee freshness. We do not ship out of date packaged goods (imported products that we do not pack on site).

If a customer is unhappy with a purchase or feels that an item was received in error, we ask the customer to contact us immediately. We accept returns during these circumstances and extend full refunds (including any return shipping cost). We take pride in our products and want our customers to be completely satisfied with their online tea purchases.
