Overall Character
This is an exquisite tea! As described on this site, it is "rich and smooth;" it is also gentle and sweet. There are no bitter or fermented notes in this tea.

In the wet leaves one can clearly see the full buds. These transport me right to the tea plantation. The aroma of the wet leaves is intoxicatingly inviting and I found myself salivating prior to my first sip.

The color of the brew is a gorgeous yellow and the taste is fresh and warm. I will reorder this one! Original Review Submitted: 3/12/13 (Posted on 10/25/2017)

Huo Shan Yellow Sprouting

This rare yellow tea from China’s Anhui province is comprised of beautiful hand-crafted leaves and downy silver buds. This tea is notable for its rich, full and smooth tasting floral infusion. When brewed our Yellow Sprouting produces a naturally sweet and refreshingly clean tasting cup of tea.

Brewing Tips: Huo Shan Yellow Sprouting tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a rolling boil and then allowed to cool for a minute (170-180° F). Using one rounded teaspoon of loose tea or one teabag for each cup required, pour the water over the tea leaves. Yellow tea should be steeped for 1½-2 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping.
