brewing-information Description

Since 1848, Compagnie Coloniale has selected only the highest quality teas from great origins and has prepared blends according to a unique steam-flavoring process.

This method brings a natural caramelized brilliance aspect to the leaves with fruits, spices and flowers sourced from all over the world.

Imported from France, this special Boudoir Blend was created in Odessa, Russia in 1887. A favorite for generations, Indar's Boudoir Blend is an uplifting mixture of select loose leaf black teas from Ceylon, Assam and Darjeeling, delicately scented with oil of Bergamot to produce a superb cup.

So glad you still stock Indar. Sad to see the older form of it is gone. I am still finishing a tin, so I have yet to open the tea in its newer packaging. Given that it is still sold by Mark Wendell teas, I have hope that the contents will be identical, whatever the style of the tin.

I love this tea. This is my favourite tea. My husband and I drink it everyday. This is a really nice blend. I love Earl Grey but this is more subtle but full body with the black tea mix.

I do drink many other teas. But if I only were to have just one tea, this would be it. It has a full body and the bergamot is only subtly in the mix. The tea has notes of Darjeeling with the heavier notes of Assam. It is a wonderfully blanched flavor and aroma. It was looking for Indar to that brought me to Mark T Wendell who have provided me with this and many other new favorite teas for several decades since.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for my order to ship?

We strive to ship orders within 2-3 days of receipt. However, due to the handcrafted nature of our products, combined with inventory limitations, some orders may take longer to ship. If there is a significant delay in shipping your order, we will contact you directly with details.

Are your teas cultivated naturally? Are they Organic?

All our teas are sourced from tea estates, suppliers and importers that we have personally worked with for decades and many for generations! We only purchase teas that have been cultivated naturally, devoid of pesticides and growth agents.

Teas that have the term “Organic” in the products name have gone through additional certification by the country or origin and USFDA. Even though all our products are natural, we are unable to list them as Organic unless they have gone through these steps. Sometimes, this certification can be costly and time consuming for growers. Each country has different regulations, so many sell the teas to us without this extra labeling.

How long does tea stay fresh?

If sealed properly and stored away from extreme hot/cold temps and moisture, tea will stay as flavorful as the day you bought it, even after 18 months.

How long should I brew my tea?

Tea brewing times and water temperature can vary between tea varieties. Please consult this link to find the best method for your tea!
