Very bitter if you use a rounded teaspoon/cup. Clouds up when it cools which is mildly unaesthetic. OK if I mix it 1:4 with larger loose leaf teas. I don't like to add any sweetener to my tea so bitterness is a negative. Doubt I'll order it again (Posted on 11/29/2017)

My all time favorite tea. I have been a loyal customer of Mark Wendell teas for many years! Why? Because their teas are of the highest quality any where. The Mountain Kenya tea is great without sweetener or milk. The flavor is strong and yet NOT bitter unless you steep it too long. I usually a teaspoon of buckwheat honey. I drink it every day of the year and consider it the most flavorful of all the African teas.

Mountain Kenya

Mountain Kenya is an exciting and highly invigorating tea, appropriate for those who like a strong cup of tea. For many years, we have offered this small leaf tea sourced from the Tindret Estate in Kenya. Unique in appearance and overall taste, this is one of the finest small leaf teas grown on the African continent.

Brewing Tips: Our Mountain Kenya tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a rolling boil (205-212° F). Using one rounded teaspoon of loose tea or one teabag for each cup required, pour the boiling water over the tea leaves. Mountain Kenys tea should be steeped for 4-5 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping. Decant and enjoy!
