Overview of Brandy Oolong

Made from a special cultivar of the tea plant unique to Taiwan, this offering is a highly oxidized (85-90%) oolong tea that has only recently been introduced to western tea enthusiasts. Also known as “Ruby-18", this style of oolong was initially created by crossing the Assamica tea varietal with the native tea plant to produce a tea that has become the favorite for tea enthusiasts of every age. When brewed, Brandy Oolong’s rich and amber brew hints of spice, cinnamon and sweet-creamy malt notes.

Our Brandy Oolong tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a point just short of boiling (190-200° F). Using one rounded teaspoon of loose tea or one teabag for each cup required, pour the boiling water over the tea leaves. Brandy Oolong tea should be steeped for 3-4 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping. Decant and enjoy!

I love this tea! The dry leaves are richly dark; they almost look wet in the can because of the depth of their color. The brew is a gorgeous deep orange and the bouquet is quite floral. The lingering aftertaste is addictive so that you will want to keep sipping. This is a beautiful tea.
