Overview of Assam

Highly regarded by connoisseurs, this tea is produced in the largest growing region in Northern India, Assam. Its pungent liquor brews to a dark-reddish color, leaving a full-bodied cup with a malty taste that is truly unique. Often used as the main tea component in many Irish Breakfast blends, Assam is a strong tea that you will enjoy each morning! This tea takes well to milk and sugar.

Assam tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a rolling boil (205-212° F). Using one rounded teaspoon of loose tea or one teabag for each cup required, pour the boiling water over the tea leaves. Assam tea should be steeped for 4-5 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping. Decant and enjoy!

When I can't afford my darling Darjeeling, this is my go-to tea. This one keeps me going for most of the year!

A hearty, brisk brew. Not a drop-dead dazzler, not an aristocrat of teas, but eminently respectable and pleasing to the palate.

I love your Assam tea! It has lots of flavor and continues to be one of my favorites. This is the way tea should taste. I also really love the tin that it came in. It looks beautiful on my counter.
