I had never been a fan of green tea although I had tried a number of them. I decided to give it one more chance and purchase a more expensive one, such as this one. I absolutely love it and it is a favorite afternoon and evening tea. I brew it for the full 3 minutes after cooling the water slightly. (Posted on 6/15/2018)

I generally do not spend a lot on tea, but this one I save for special occasions or when I am hosting friends with a refined tea palate. First off, the leaves are pressed, delicate and feathery, which the picture cannot really show (imagine one-inch willow leaves pressed and dried- light green and silvery). They are something to behold and unlike any other tea leaves I have seen.

The taste is delicate and as the description says: light, vegetative and grassy- quite appealing. This is one tea where it really pays to pre-heat the tea pot and brew for the suggested time to properly balance the delicate flavors. A real treat. Dragonwell Green, Special Grade

China’s most famous and highly prized green tea is hand picked in the Hangzhou region and our special grade is rarely available outside of China. Its tender, flat green leaves produce a light emerald green liquor with a most intriguing aroma of sweetness and vegetative taste.

Brewing Tips: Our Dragonwell Green tea should be made with cold, filtered water that has been brought to a boil and then allowed to cool for 1 minute (170-180° F). Using one rounded teaspoon of loose tea or one teabag for each cup required, pour the boiling water over the tea leaves. Dragonwell Green tea should be steeped for 2-3 minutes. Once the ideal brewing time has been reached, the leaves should be removed to prevent further steeping. Decant and enjoy!

How Much Tea Do I Need?
1 pound of loose leaf tea will make approximately 160 cups of brewed tea
8 ounces of loose leaf tea will make approximately 80 cups of brewed tea
4 ounces of loose leaf tea will make approximately 40 cups of brewed tea
