Tregothnan tea is a unique product from the United Kingdom’s first tea garden. Established in 1335 and located just outside of Truro in Cornwall, Tregothnan is the largest private botanical garden in the region, growing many healthy herbal plants. They were the first to grow the tea genus in England over 200 years ago, perfecting the art of tea production in recent years. Today, tea can be found growing in small pockets all over the home estate. The equable climate is moderated by the vast Atlantic Ocean before it hits the ten mile ridge of Cornwall. The humid air loses its damaging saltiness and perfectly mimics the high foothills of the Himalayas. Over the last 10 years tea has been grown and blended here using natural production methods, carried out entirely free of chemicals and sustainable for four millennia! After just thirty-six hours of plucking the fresh leaves, the tea is ready for drinking.
